The Archway Partnership in Moultrie, Colquitt County
Colquitt County was identified as the pilot location for the Archway Partnership Project because of critical needs resulting from a new Sanderson Farms agricultural and food processing facility that created 1,500 new jobs. UGA helped address the following needs, expressed by the community:
- increased worker housing;
- increased school system enrollment and preserving neighbor-hood schools;
- land-use planning and zoning;
- increased road and arterial stresses;
- blighted neighborhoods;
- increased water consumption and wastewater disposal; and
- an increasing Latino population with unique challenges.
